DIY agent workspace guide

Set up an OpenClaw/Hermes workspace you can actually use.

The goal is not a giant AI transformation project. The goal is one secure workspace, one repeatable development loop, and a practical way to ask for help when you get stuck.

Step 1

Create the workspace

Start with a private repo, a repeatable folder layout, and explicit instructions for how your agent should read, change, and verify work.

Step 2

Secure the operating surface

Keep credentials out of prompts, document where secrets live, and decide which tools the workspace can safely touch.

Step 3

Run tiny loops

Use one small request at a time: inspect, plan, change, verify, and write down what happened so the next loop starts cleaner.

Step 4

Export the artifacts

The valuable part is the repo, prompts, setup notes, and review history. If you stop hosting, take the artifacts with you.

Partnership note

Built as a practical Build Lean SaaS workflow.

DevelopJoy is where the client support and hosted workspace live. Build Lean SaaS is the company behind the operating model, templates, and broader SaaS workflow thinking.
